If you are squeezing your own pomegranates, cut them in half and squeeze them over a sieve placed over a bowl. This can be messy, so cover-up.
Cut a small wedge from the lime and juice the rest, reserve. Rub the lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip into the Cocktail Rim of your choice, add about 3-4 ice cubes to the glass.
In a shaker add ice, tequila, pomegranate juice, lime juice and syrup. Shake very hard for at least 30 seconds. Pour carefully into your glass and taste with a straw or spoon, add a little lime juice if needed and stir gently. Serve straight away.
