Arguably the purest expression of G4’s sensational spirit, the unrested, un-aged blanco displays this beautifully, sustainably-crafted tequila in its full, unadulterated glory. Nice minerality and forward aroma from rainwater distillation. Silky texture with slight heat. True agave, spicy, peppery, smooth and delicious with nice buttery notes and smoky elements. Complex, but pleasant sipping.
Felipe Camarena maestro tequilero at distillery El Pandillo, comes from a family of distillers. His brother Carlos produces Ocho and his grandfather founded Tapatio. Felipe's dedication to the craft is second to none, he is highly inventive having built his own equipment to his exacting standards, 'Igor' the shredder, 'Felipenstien' the crusher and his two-storey oven which steams his agaves evenly. He is dedicated to being as earth-friendly as possible, harvesting rainwater, planting for biodiversity and neutralizing his tequila vinaza before using it as fertilizer.
The water source for his tequilas is essential, he demonstrates through his brands, the unique flavour profiles each water source and its minerals give to tequila. G4 is produced using fifty per cent captured rainwater and fifty per cent spring water, unique in tequila production.
His 5 big brands are: G4, Pasote, ArteNOM 1579, Terralta, Volans

Erica Boorom: 'Aroma: Cooked agave, peppercorns, vegetal and light earth. A little bit of citrus here too. Taste: Lots of agave, black pepper and there are some earth and grass notes here as well that are unique in character. The trademark grass and earth of this tequila hold the place of minerality with Pasote. Full and thick flavour. Finish: Long and prolongs more cooked agave flavours and earth. It doesn't really do this tequila justice to say it tastes like "agave, pepper, earth, and grass" there's something unique about these flavours that you have to experience.'
Remy Newland: 'Grassy nose, with nice earth and mineral notes. Some pineapple and a hint of lactic. Big ripe agave notes. Warm spices and caramelized agave embrace one another. Nice oily viscosity covers your tongue with light sweetness and crisp elements. Nice spiciness, and a faint taste of dill. A little smokiness on the finish.'
