Shrubs are usually fruit, sugar and vinegar syrups. The Nonsuch brand is from the Aspall vinegar people! However, they don't use sugar but add apple juice for sweetness.
It is a non-alcoholic aperitif with an intense orange peel aroma, packed with citrus notes and a perfect sweet-sour balance, the bitterness gives great length and a moreish finish.
Works wonderfully with a range of tonic waters where its bittersweet citrus character comes to the fore. Add some tequila to make a satisfying Tequila St Clements aperitif. Great in a range of cocktails.

A brand new tequila that comes in a great looking bottle with a beautiful label. The ABV is slightly higher than normal tequilas making this a characterful drink. Their technology is the first of its kind in the world to tackle the carbon footprint and waste associated with single-use glass in the alcohol industry. Cool! Tequila MatchMaker Rating: 84 by the communityReview by Andrew Davis: Nose: Nice sweet cooked agave with some black pepper. After letting it rest I noticed some light vanilla which I really enjoyed. Palate: cooked agave which starts with hints of sweetness but is not overwhelming. Finishes with a little bite of alcohol from that 42.5% abv and some black pepper as well. Medium in body probably would be great in a cocktail but still holds up as a tasty sipper.NOM: 1146Aroma: bright cooked agave, vanilla, black pepperPalate: black pepper, cooked agave, oak, warm mineral finishGood for: a super tequila to mix but also a tasty sipperInteresting fact: created by Maestro Tequilero and trained architect, Enrique FonsecaRegion: Jalisco, Los AltosAge of agave when harvested: fully mature blue weber agavesWater Source: deep well waterOven type: autoclave (low pressure)Extraction method: roller mill, screw millFermentation: stainless steel tanks, mixtoStill type: copperABV: 42.5%
