Cascahuín Tequila 70cl - Reposado
Product information

Description
Cascahuín Tequila Reposado is matured in American oak barrels that have been used for resting tequila for more than 20 years, the ageing time lasts from 14 to 16 months. These old barrels give the tequila delicate aromas of honey and vanilla and a rounded flavour whilst still allowing lots of sweet cooked agave characteristics to shine through.
Established in 1904 by Salvador Rosales Briseño, this independent family-run distillery produces beautiful tequila from agaves raised on their land rather than buying them from multiple areas. This gives their tequila terroir a sense of place. Very highly respected tequila.

Remy Newland: 'Striking nose. Agave, berries, banana, and warm spices reminiscent of cookies baking. Flavours follow nicely with vanilla, almond and pepper. Creamy anise. Lingering pepper finish with a hint of orange peel. This is a very solid tequila.'
Erica Boorom: 'Sweet nose with agave and raspberries alongside light baking spices. This carries over into the taste with some additional barrel notes like vanilla, oak, and nuts. The finish is long and spicy.
Kevin Suriano: 'Tremendous reposado that starts off with a subtle, yet beautiful nose then hits you with outstanding flavour and a strong finish. Easily one of my top 5 reposados. Aroma: Subtle with a mild sweetness. Cooked agave, baking spices, and fruits (berries, banana, and pear.) Traces of almond and nutmeg. Taste: Cooked agave, baking spices and berries with a wonderful warmth. Traces of the Tennessee Whiskey barrel, chestnuts, citrus, and orange peel, with earthy minerality. This hits all my buttons. The balance is incredible. Finish: Sensational. The sweet notes and the warm cinnamon notes are in perfect harmony. The finish lasts forever.'
Good for a gift: in Mexico, reposado is most often given as a gift when coming to dinner or a party, considered more special than a blanco but not as hefty as an añejo - sitting happily in the middle making it a gift suitable for most occasions.
